Having a girlfriend can be a dangerous thing. We become too dependent on our woman for our happiness, and then if we get dumped, we find that we’ve all of a sudden lost our confidence. This results in being without sex for many months, until we finally get a girlfriend again, and… the cycle repeats.

So to break this cycle, we need to REMAIN the attractive guy, the alpha male.

You see, relationships can make us guys too lazy (since the sex is so easy) and we lose that “high value” mindset. It’s crucial to keep that alpha male frame of mind that says, “I am like a Lamborghini.”

Do Lamborghini dealerships grovel to try to get people to like them? Of course not. Instead they allow all the buyers to come to them. Hell, Lamborghini doesn’t even advertise. As a man, you should have a similar confident mindset if you want to maximize the attraction your girlfriend feels for you.

So, how do you keep that alpha mindset? First and foremost, avoid chasing your girlfriend like a puppy dog. A basic concept which will prevent her from ever treating you badly is what I call Punishment and Reward.

If a woman engages in behavior which you disapprove of, punish her by withdrawing your time and focusing on something (or someone) else. If she does something you like (such as having sex with you), reward her by giving her more of your time, talking about her feelings, etc.

So whenever you do something nice for her, do it because you’re rewarding her. And DO reward her good behavior, if you want more of it. Like I said, Punishment and Reward.

Then there’s the issue of being a challenge. Women act sweet when you’re a challenge to them. They act bitchy when they take you for granted and no longer feel like they need put out effort to win your affections.

Often by around month 6 in a relationship is when a woman really starts to take a guy for granted, so avoid that by remaining a challenge.

So the solution to remaining the attractive, alpha guy in your relationships is threefold:

1. Always be willing to focus your time on things other than your girlfriend. Don’t reward her for acting bitchy by continuing to be around her when she does. On the other hand, too, reward her for good behavior by giving her more of your time when she acts sweet.

2. Always have it in the back of your mind that you could end the relationship at any time. Don’t explicitly threaten her with that, but just make it a subtle implication. That way she’ll never become truly comfortable with the relationship and will keep working to win you.

3. Always allow her to think that’s she’s just a little bit more interested in you than you are in her. Again, this can be very subtle, but if (for example) you’re telling her 20 times a day that you love her, and she’s only telling you that twice, then obviously the situation is badly out of whack.

So, what’s the number one secret between those high status guys and the low status guys? You’ve probably guessed it… the alpha males are relaxed and in control when it comes to social situations.

Make no mistake about it… relaxation is the most important mental state for you to be in.

With that in mind, here are some pointers for you to develop the mindset and body language of an alpha male (and by the way, if you think they’re easy, you’re right… you can make these changes as early as tonight and have even the hottest girls clamoring for your attention):

1. Don’t allow yourself to feel worried. Just let your worries go, since you can’t solve any problem by worrying. So suck it up, and quit thinking about what might go wrong. Just live life.

Now, I know what I just said is easier said than done (to use an old–but relevant in this case–cliche). You’ve spent your whole life up until now dwelling on thoughts that make you feel worried.

But what is this emotion we call “worry”? When you think about it, it’s simply the fear of what might happen in the future. Essentially you’re punishing yourself by feeling upset before anything bad has happened. It makes no logical sense to worry!

So the solution is to avoid contemplating your worrisome thoughts anymore. Identify them for what they are… toxic to your emotional state, and… let them go.

Simply not dwelling on negative outcomes that make you feel upset will reduce 90% of your worries.

2. A second strategy to relax is to breathe through your abdomen rather than your chest.

When you breathe, imagine that you’re bringing air down to your stomach. Feel your belly rise and fall as you breathe.

3. Avoid nonverbal behaviors that are the opposite of relaxation:

- Raising your shoulders.
- Wrinkling your forehead.
- Fidgeting with your hands and/or legs.
- Tightening your facial muscles.

4. Relax all your muscles and slow down all of your movements a notch.

Alpha males generally move unhurriedly, as if they are in control of time itself. Beta males are nervous and make jerky movements. Imagine you are standing and walking through a swimming pool, where your movements are slow and fluid.

5. Relax your eyes and eyelids.

Beta males hold their eyelids wide open because they are so nervous. Their eyes dart all around. Instead let your eyelids rest. Look straight ahead. Only give things your attention if they interest you. While you’re out and about, do the affirmation to yourself, “I am sexual, I am relaxed, and I am in control.”

6. If someone wants your attention, move your head slowly.

A trait common to many beta males is being so eager to please that when someone calls their name, you see them spin their heads toward the person unnaturally fast.

It’s been a while! So, an update……….

My Ex Girlfriend (who only 4 months ago claimed to be in love with me, and wanted to spend the rest of her life with me) is now seeing someone else. Not just anybody, but someone I work with!!!!!!

Now, I could get all bitter and twisted about this, but if you read any guide on getting your ex girlfriend back you will learn that this is the worst thing you could do. Inside, I’m feeling a mixture of anger, regret and obviously I’m a little upset thinking about this guys hands all over her. But, on the outside, I’m calm, collected and ready to live life.

One thing I’ve learned in the past few months, is that girlfriends will come and go, but friends & family will always be there. I would say that I have come out of this better than she has (not that it’s a competition!), as she is losing a lot of respect with the way she has been acting recently.

I have been asking myself the question, would I really want her back now? To be honest, I still do not know the answer to that question. I do still have a lot of love for her though.

I sent her a message for the first time in 2 months yesterday. I got no reply, but to be honest I pretty much expected that. Still think it’s a little rude though!

I have secretly found out that my ex is casually seeing her ex again – only 2 months after splitting up with me and saying she needs to be on her own to sort her head out. Yeah, it feels like I’ve been lied to – but I do understand.

What makes me smile, is the fact that she’s not told anyone. Workmates/mutual friends have asked her directly if she’s seeing anyone – but she says no. What I’ve heard a lot of recently is guys saying “my girlfriend says there is no chance of us getting back together, so there is no point in trying”!

Do you seriously think a girl splits up with a guy and says anything other than that?! What would be the point!

People get back together all the time. Sometimes it takes days, sometimes weeks, and sometimes months. Obviously not everyone gets back together. But, there is always a chance.

The only exception to this rule is usually if the relationship ended badly (i.e. cheating, violence etc).

Me and my ex have not fallen out, not bad mouthed each other. We have not been best of friends either, but have never argued or exchanged bad words.

I honestly believe that there is still love there on both sides. Obviously I can’t say for certain.

The message I’m trying to get across is – DO NOT GIVE UP! There is always a possibility. Unless of course, you start making all the classic mistakes that the majority of ex boyfriends make! Many of the male members of the human world look upon this strange situation with a small touch of wistfulness. What would it be like to have your own harem? What they cannot see is that the alpha male has become the alpha male not by birthright but by having proved over and over again that he is strong enough and intelligent enough to lead the pack-and to keep it. When the alpha male is challenged by another male for possession of his pack he must fight to keep it or it will be taken away from him. This is, again, to ensure that the species survives; the one who wins the right to be an alpha male is the one most likely to father strong offspring.

Of course, that’s all very good for the animal kingdom, but how does this pertain to the human world? Simple. Humans have their alpha males too, the criteria by which they are classified is just a bit different. There are many different ways by which a male can be classified as alpha.

- The powerful alpha. This is the man who wields the most power, both in their place of business and among their community of friends. - The “bad boy” alpha. This alpha takes many forms. He may be military or law enforcement-black ops or undercover, of course. He will have a shady past that he never reveals and at least one criminal element has issued a price on his head. He will wear black and not converse a great deal, assuming that the women he is with will know what it is that he wants.

- The artistic alpha. This will be the man who sells his paintings in a downtown museum but has had showings in Italy and France. He will have a small cottage on the beach and he and whoever his lady of the moment is will spend their days (and nights) home eating strawberries dipped in chocolate and reciting poetry to each other.

Sound familiar? Every man in the world has known someone who fits into one of these categories and every woman has wanted to date one. They are the few, the proud, the alpha males.

So, another update!

It was my Ex girlfriend’s birthday yesterday (Sat), and I had ordered flowers to be delivered to her house. I did not know whether this was a good idea or not – but my heart told me to!

I got a very short text saying thanks. No emotion, no kisses, just thanks.  I’m not gonna read anything into this, as I’m sure she found it difficult to know what to say.

I sent a very quick reply to her text. Once again, nothing emotional, just a simple – have a lovely birthday x

This is how I see things. The flowers tell her I still care. The lack of emotion in my text shows that I’m not asking for anything in return. The flowers were simply a gesture from someone who cares. She knows I care.

I see it as having the confidence to show her I have love for her, without asking for anything in return. Therefore she is under no pressure. I am hoping that the flowers did not put her under pressure – I’m sure they didn’t!

I know that one day she will realise that I am right for her. It is going to take time though. She’s been enjoying life recently, and although it hurts to not be a part of that, it also makes me smile.  It makes me happy that she is happy. I sincerely hope that one day she can include me in that happiness!

Keep reading my journey!

Once again, it’s been a while since I posted. The reason for this is that NOTHING has changed! I have text my ex a couple of times and I always receive a reply within 10 mins. However, the text is always just friendly. No, ‘how are you?’, or ‘what you been up to?’. I find it hard to understand that someone can go from missing me like crazy when I have to work away for 5 days, to not even wondering what I’ve been up to.

I have read some posts in relationship forums, and everyone seems to have the opposite problem. The ex has said they need time and space – but they are still emailing or texting, or calling.

My ex has not initiated contact once in the 7 weeks since we split. No drunken texts saying I miss you. Nothing. Maybe I think too much, but I guess I just expected her to not be as ok with the split.

However, she is a stubborn girl. I honestly believe that she could be devastated that we’ve split, but would never show it. She has been through so much, that she’s become so tough.

I ordered some flowers for her yesterday. It’s her birthday in a couple of days and I just want to show her that I still care. I was in two minds, but female friends advised me that as long as they were not ‘over the top’ (i.e. a dozen red roses!), then it would be seen as a really nice thing to do. I can’t let her birthday pass by without doing something. I think that would be harsh. This is a girl I spent almost 6 months with, and in that time we were inseparable. Although the advice would prob be just ignore her, do not send flowers or a card. I can’t do this. I care about her, and to ignore her birthday would give the opposite impression. Guess we’ll see what happens. As long as I get a thank you, then I’ll be happy. If I don’t however, I think it will be a sure sign that she really doesn’t care.

I really do think that she has distanced herself completely at the moment as she is hurting. She is the one that seems awkward around me at work, and struggles to make eye contact. She is the one who struggled to remove photos of me etc. But, noone really knows. Apart from her closest friend, who she is spending a lot of time with. She works with us too – but I am not going to involve her. It’s hard, as I’ve never really trusted this girl! But, I guess I’m just thankful that she has someone there for her. They have gone away to Portugal for a bit together and I hope my ex is having a great time.

This week is tough, as we are both off work. We booked this week off together for her birthday before we split up. I’m just keeping myself busy. On Sat, I’ve made sure I’ve got plans as that is when her birthday is – so obviously she’ll be on my mind, and I’ll be thinking I should be sharing it with her. So – the whole day is busy. I’m sure I’ll still be checking my phone and waiting for a thank you for the flowers though!!!!

I never received ANY response to the letter I wrote by the way. No thank you, no ‘leave me alone’. Nothing. Female friends have said she prob just didn’t know what to say. She is confused about everything at the moment. Guess this is just more evidence.

So, that is the current status.  Not great. But, at least we have not fallen out, or argued, or exchanged any bad words at all. No bad feelings between us. Just a level of awkwardness!
